Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Thursday - He threw his hopes into the wind

14.6k 1:20:20. HR Avg 143 Max 157 Avg Pace 5:32
Course: Work to Home.
Start Time: 4:25 pm Temp 20C.
Session Type: Easy Run

It is a tough time in the week, when your heading out for your forth run home in four days and you are confronted with a stiff head wind all the way. Of all the elements, a head wind is one of the most unpleasent and on a point to point course there is no turn around with the wind behind you to compensate. I had to start out earlier tonight as I was going out to a Bob Brozman concert, so the whole run was done in light for a change. This was lucky as there was so much debris on the path it would have been dangerous in the dark. Managed to do 67:55 from Bowen Bridge at HR 145 which on paper looks a little high but considering the head wind, it is probably a lot better than it looks.

    Interesting...
written by JWHarding, which of course was also Dylan's 1967 album. I think your relative Robbie R played on it...
It had "All Along THe Watchtower" on it - not a bad track...

I don't mind running in wind; will never run in hail or electrical storms...

One day I'll find a flat 10k course on dirt and there'll be a tail wind.
