Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Tuesday 14.4k @ HR 135 Pace 5:36

14.4k 1:20:50. HR Avg 135 Max 145 Avg Pace 5:36
Course: Work to Riverside and Back.
Start Time: 5:10 pm Temp 21C.
Session Type: Sub 72%MxHR Easy Run

After pulling up sore and sorry from Sunday's run, I was very determined tonight to get back to my EASY runs. So the goal was to average HR 135. It was another balmy winter's evening and I found myself working up a sweat even going at 5:36 pace because it was so warm. Out in 39:39 (HR 136) and back in 41:11 (HR 134) to give me spot on my target of HR 135. I must say once I settled into the pace, it was a very enjoyable run. I started out listening to Lila Down's "La Sandunga" (Thanks JD). Very mellow music for an easy run, and finished with "The Nairobi Beat" Kenyan Pop Music from the 80's which is far from mellow.

I seemed to have pulled up Ok tonight, so I might just do this pace for a few weeks and see if my body can hold up.
