Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Thursday 3* 2k Tempo Intervals

8.0k 40:07.
Course: Teneriffe River Path.
Start Time: 5:45 pm Temp 17C.
Session Type: Tempo Intervals.

Thought it was about time I did a faster session. Ran down to the Teneriffe Ferry as warm up. The path along the river from here is 1K up before it ends. So the session was to be up and back for a 2k run with a 2 minute rest interval done three times.

Times were:
7:54 (Avg HR 155 / Max 166)
7:58 (163/169)
8:00 (166/172).

Then warm down by running back to work and some stretching in the gym. Certainly a nice change of routine and its fun getting the body working hard.

Great times for the 2ks. It is fun working hard - running, not at the office :-) The longer stuff in particular feels fantastic, maybe because its more like you do in a race.

So when are you going to do that heart rate test laps thingy you do?
