Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Friday 14.5K @ HR 156 Pace 4:35

14.5k 1:06:34. HR Avg 156 Max 169 Avg Pace 4:35
Course: Work to Riverside and Back.
Start Time: 5:00 pm Temp 17C.
Session Type: Sub 82%MxHR Easy Run

All this week my legs have felt sore and tired. This is suprising as I have only run once so far this week on Wednesday night. In took a little while to get into the run tonight but after a couple of Ks, I started to feel a bit better. Wanted to keep around the 155 HR and managed to do this for most of the run and keep up a pace just a little under my target Marathon Pace. Out in 33:09 (HR 153) and back in 33:24 (Hr 159).

I was plannning to do the RiverRun on Sunday but unless my legs are feeling fresher I think I will be taking it easy instead.

A few of the GC marathoners I know are feeling a bit the same way. Maybe the legs don't like the taper. Good to see yours snapped out of it.

If its not raining, or too cold to get out of bed, I plan to come and spectate at the RiverRun. Might see ya out there.

RS, you are still looking great for the GMC!

    Are you a 10cc fan?

If so, you should know that Look Hear and Windows In The Jungle are finally going to be released on CD early July (party noises from Sydney!)

ps waiting for RS Songs update!

Keep those legs nice and fresh Robert Song. I find it pretty hard to find the balance between maintaining fitness and total abstinence (running).
