Wednesday 7k @ Pace 4:42
7.0k 32:58. HR Avg ? Max 160 Avg Pace 4:42
Course: Work to New Farm Park and Back.
Start Time: 5:40 pm Temp 24C.
Session Type: Sub 72%MxHR Easy Run
I finally get out for a decent run since the marathon. Came down with a sore throat and blocked ears over Easter, so have been taking it easy. I had planned not to any running in the first week anyway and this week was to be easy so I don't see this as a set back at this stage.
Tonight it took a little while to get the cobwebs out, but once I got into it was feeling strong. Out in 16:39 and back in 16:18 (HR 153). My Heart Rate Monitor didn't start recording till near half way so no figures for the first half.
For those of you who were wondering why I have a target time of 3:16 for the Gold Coast, there is a simple answer. Based on this Age Equivalient Calculator my equivalient time this year for my Marathon PB is 3:16:11. If I can't beat that time this year, next year it goes up to 3:17:48! So I have to find 11 minutes improvement in ten weeks.

3:16 will be close. Definitely a no music, concentration run.
I caught the same bug over Easter. I'm only just getting over it now.

Canberra was just a training run for you and look how well you did. I'd bet you will go well under 3:16.
PS I like that calculator idea. I get an 1min 36secs.

Phew ..... good to see you back in action and lining up for the next marathon. With a run like that you are well on the way to the GC at 3:16.
