Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Back to School

It has been a cautious week. Lots of stretching and strengthening exercises with a couple of pool sessions and net sessions (cricket that is).

Tuesday 22nd
I did a 55 minute walk.

Thursday 24th
An 85 minute walk.

Sunday 27th Jan
I went out for another walk and after 50 pain free minutes thought it was time to test the hammie a little. I did a further 35 minutes of slow jogging. Felt good.

Tuesday 29th
Back to school for two of the kids. The other two start tomorrow. This would be my first real run. 6.5k 35:05 (5:23 HR 140) and all is well. Nice and easy though. Will look now to slowly get back into routine during February.

I see that Qtrax didn't quite make it off the launching pad today.

This video from Erykah Badu is for those of you who remember the pleasure of LPs and going to a record store.

Aaahhh, LPs. I sure miss them. Reminds me of weekend afternoons at friends places having a few drinkies and going through their record collection. Sometimes it didn't really matter if the music wasn't that great, you could get so much pleasure just from the covers!

Yes, the 'covers' of iPod downloads just don't cut it.
