Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

More Steady Build Up

30th July - 5th August

Mon 6.8k 37:02 (HR 127 68%Max Pace 5:26) - recovery
Tue 9.5k 48:48 (HR 137 74% Max Pace 5:08) - gentle hills
Wed 14.5k 1:12:08 (HR 141 76%Max Pace 4:58)
Thu 9.5k 45:46 (HR 136 73%Max Pace 4:55)
Fri 18.8k 1:40:26 (HR 134 72%Max Pace 5:20)
Sat Rest
Sun 31.5k 2:48:30 (HR 140 75%Max Pace 5:20)

Week: 90.6k
MTD: 74.3k
YTD: 1,930k

A 6.6k increase in Ks over last week. Still feel that the body is not quite ready for this level of Ks just yet. The HR v Pace for Friday's run was a good indicator that I was tired and so I had the rest day Saturday. Still I don't think I'm that far away from absorbing this level of training. I am aiming to get up to around the 100 - 105k a week mark.

A very solid week of training Robert Song. Those Wednesday and Thursday efforts were especially zippy.

I'm there, but not sure whether I'm absorbing it. The easy running pace makes it all doable, so that's good.

I'm not marathoning, but sometimes wonder if the 130k/week level would result in a 7-10 minutes faster marathon time, as it seems to have done for Eagle.

the body designs bras. i don't think you're allowed to use 'the body', because e. mcph. will come kick your running-freak-with-too-much-discipline booty with her long, hot gams. you'd hate that.

    Big mileage - good work!

So you didn't do B2B? Can't say I blame you.
