Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Thursday Easy Run

14.8k 1:16:14. HR Avg 145 Max 155 Avg Pace 5:09
Course: Work to Riverside and Back.
Start Time: 5:30pm Temp 28C.
Session Type: Sub 72%MxHR Easy Run

A little bit hotter and humid tonight and less breeze. So with a similiar paced run as last night, this pushed up the HR from yesterday's 135 to 145. Still a nice easy run.

Replaced Dr Nico on my music player with the latest Charlie Gillett World 2CD music compilation "Sound of the World". His previous World 2005 and World 2004 have both been excellent and from first listening tonight this set is no different. I am also trying out this album with a bit rate of 128Kbps for the WMA files rather then my usual 192Kbps. It will allow me to get more music on at one time and in theory get better battery life. Sadly even with the lower rate, there just didn't seem to be the room for "Crunchy Granola Suite" or "Song Sung Blue" ;-)

"are you there tree people ?"

Can't believe there's no room for Hot August Night.

Keep up the great running. You're ks and pace are way out of my league!

Great to hear that the new 'World' compilation is as good as the others. I have a copy of 2004 (courtesy of JD) and love it. Haven't listened to it for a while so might even load it on the iPod for some weekend running.

Not Hot August Night - no, no, no!

It was definitely 4*c when I ran this morning - no typo. Tonight the minimum will be 9*c. Usually it is pretty coolish overnight around Canberra marathon time but it does warm up during the day.
