Robert Song's Running

I'm over 50 and been running off and on since 1968. I have run everything from 800m to 10k on the track, to half marathons (PB 1:21 Brisbane 1993) and marathons (PB 2:53 Gold Coast 1985).

Back On The Road Again

It has been a while since I posted but for the last 10 days there has not been much to say. It started as a sore throat but quickly went to my head and chest and resulted in four days in bed or on the couch. Once over the worst, the damn cough would just not go away.

Today has been the first day that I have really felt like going for a run.

Tonight it was a gentle 5.2k in 26:50 and I seemed to have managed not too make anything worse at this stage. So hopefully I can now ease back into full training.

Pity I had to miss the CR 5k challenge at BRRC on Sunday. It sounds like everyone had a good time.

The family on a recent trip to Roma Street Parklands.

Good to see the young fella with an oval ball. Now all we have to do is get him from Cowboys to Lions and the job will be done :-)

It's a pity the cold didn't lay you up on the couch for 4 days while the Olympics was on - I'm LOOKING for an excuse to spend my days at home!

    Cowboys!

I wondered what you were up to. On the road again is a good place to be.

Good to see you back bloging and running Robert Song. Spring should help you to get you even more motivated.

Nice family shot, must be fun with such a big family. I noticed the young fella has a "Cowboys" ball, still it could be worse and be a "Bulldogs" one.

I watched my first game of Rugby Leauge since 1996 last week and had to watch my old team "Manly" go down to a team I've never heard of from Melbourne, at our beloved home ground Brookie oval.
    Hard to take ;(

These colds sure knock one around Robert Song. My running has been affected too. Just have to be careful.

    Lovely family photo. Lovely family.
